Vaughn Duffy, Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Sauvignon Blanc | Russian River Valley

Another wonderful production from the Bay Area's own Matt Duffy and Sara Vaughn.

Matt and Sara started the label with little more than a U-Haul and a dream of making wine. A stint at Siduri under the guidance of the Pinot master Adam Lee led to the founding of their eponymous label, and every bottle they produce is an absolute slam-dunk instant classic. We adore their wines!

We love zippy, mouthwatering SB like this any time of the year. Brimming with classic SB notes of white flowers (think honeysuckle and jasmine), lime zest, grapefruit pith, and crushed-rock minerals with cheek-contracting acidity and stony notes. Delish!

Vaughn Duffy works with some of the best small vineyards in California, including this SB from the Hopkins Ranch vineyard. Nestled between world-famous wineries like Williams-Selyem, Rochioli, and Copain, the Hopkins Ranch vineyard is in Healdsburg, the heart of the beautiful Russian River Valley. The vines of Sauv Blanc here are 40-plus years old, fermented in stainless steel beginning to end. This 2019 shows a bit of a richer hue than in years past, with gorgeous texture to match. California sunshine in a bottle!

Wine Enthusiast gave it 91 points. Best price in the country! Cheers!
