Robert Moncuit "Les Chétillons" Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne 2008
Chardonnay｜Les Mesnil-sur-Oger, Champagne
Found in the historic Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the "Chétillons" vineyard is a highly prized, minuscule 2.5-hectare vineyard that fanatical devotees of grower Champage consider the "Montrachet of Champagne."
Owned and farmed by the fellow-grower extraordinaire Pierre Peters, the "Les Chétillons" vineyard has been owned by the Peters family since 1930. This 2008 marks the first vintage ever produced by Robert Moncuit.
Barrel fermented, the wines of Robert Moncuit blend laser-like precision with a richness and depth evocative of the houses of Krug or Bollinger. Oyster shell, lemon meringue, toasted cashew, and elderflower carry through on a wave of power, intensity, and an incredibly intense finish.
This is one of the most rare, highly sought-after "grower" Champagnes out there, coming to us perfectly aged and purchased direct from the importer. Expect nothing less than a transcendental experience in this limited bottling. Just a handful available – free shipping on one bottle!
