Revival Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
Cabernet Sauvignon | Napa Valley
Incredible library release, direct from their Napa cellars, of an incredibly rare Cabernet.
This is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it rarity made by some serious Napa heavyweights, Lindsay and Sean Garvey. Lindsay makes wine at Buehler Vineyards and Sean owns Flora Springs and is their vineyard manager. This is essentially a one-off micro-project comprised of top-notch Napa fruit, with Enrico Bertoz as consulting winemaker, formerly of Sine Qua Non!!!
It's all here: savory and fleshy blackcurrant liqueur, pencil lead, sage, underbrush, mocha, mesquite and tanned leather flow from the glass. The palate is rich, polished, and ultra-suave with those silky tannins that come only from bottle aging. It's firing on all cylinders now but will age gracefully another decade at least.
We used our unprecedented access to offer this beauty at a staggering $59 off retail and free shipping on only two bottles. But we suggest getting at least a six-pack – once it's gone that's it!
Per the winemakers:
So much love and care went into this, and the wine shows promise to keep evolving. This is absolutely a long-haul buy that will reward a patient cellaring but immediate pleasure. Decant for at least an hour to really let the flavors unfold. And don't forget, with aged wines like this The Durand is the only and best way to remove these older delicate corks!
