Limited Addition, Rosé of Grenache 2019
Grenache Rosé | Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley
Limited Addition is the brainchild of Bree and Chad Stock. Bree Stock is a highly respected Master of Wine (MW) – one of the few women to hold the prestigious title of the mere 409 MWs TOTAL worldwide. She and Chad are at the forefront of natural, hands-off winemaking in the Pacific Northwest. Their wines are totally raw, uninhibited, and immensely delicious.
This is a deeply colored rosé from the noble Grenache grape; in fact the clone used for this comes from cuttings imported from the vaunted Gigondas region in the southern Rhône, arguably the spiritual home of Grenache. The color is so deep in fact, that it masterfully bridges the gap between a rosé and a red, which is ideal for balmy summer nights when the occasion calls for something a bit more structured and bold.
Overflowing with pink and red fruits, the wine shows a brilliant fuchsia in the glass, and notes of sweet summer plum, hibiscus, and cut red flowers. Beautiful, high-toned notes of crushed cherries, mint, and cranberry accompany a fresh, lively palate that benefits from serving with a slight chill.
The structure and high tone of the wine ensure a capable longevity of another year or so in bottle, but it's unlikely you'll have the patience! At the lowest price in the nation (if you can even find it), we guarantee this makes for wonderful drinking all year-round, but especially through the warmer months of summer and early fall ahead!
