Heritage School Vineyards, "Missiaen's Hillside Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Cabernet Sauvignon|Napa Valley

Orginally known as "Harris Estate Vineyards," Heritage School is founded on the old site of a private boys' institution (The Heritage School) near Calistoga, Napa Valley. The estate was rebranded in 2014 as Heritage School, and Thomas Rivers Brown has made the wines since 2006. He was voted as 2010 Winemaker of the Year, the youngest to ever receive a perfect 100-point score, and the talent behind so many award-winning wines in Napa that we've lost count.

This is their finest site, known as "Missiaen's Hillside Vineyard" produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinous Media describes the wine:

"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Missiaen's Hillside Vineyard is the darkest and richest of these wines, but it also has enough structural breadth to handle all of that intensity. Superripe plum, bittersweet chocolate, tobacco and licorice all flesh out over time. This is an especially rich, seamless style, yet all the elements are in the right place."

Less than 300 cases  are made annually and this is one of the most hidden-in-plain-sight gems of Napa greatness you'll find. An instant classic with incredible longevity. Trades for as much as $165 elsewhere – don't miss!
