Daniele Conterno "Sette Anni" Barolo Riserva 2010
Nebbiolo｜Monforte d'Alba, Barolo
We're proud to offer this one-of-a-kind, investment grade Barolo Riserva bottling from Daniele Conterno.
The grandson of the legendary Giacomo Conterno, Daniele is the latest to make superb wine from his family's heralded vineyards in Monforte d'Alba, centered around the historic Bussia vineyard in Monforte, near which the family has lived for generations.
Certified organic since 2005, Daniele employs traditional methods in the vineyards, along with tradition and pragmatism in the winery. Everything is hand-harvested and treated with the utmost care. His Baroli are detailed, complex, immensely aromatic, and powerful.
This 10-year-old Riserva is the selection of only the finest fruit from their vineyards, aged for an astounding seven years in botti (large barrels); it is best enjoyed after at least three hours' decanting and will continue to age in bottle for another 25 years, minimum.
It also contains a secret: where the "Sette Anni" is typically a blend of top vineyards, including Bussia, in 2010 the fruit is 100% Bussia vineyard, an astounding fact considering that the Bussia vineyard is regarded as one of the finest vineyards not only in Barolo, but in the world. Stunning stuff.
To sweeten the offer, we're giving free shipping on just one bottle.
