Cowhorn "Spiral 36" White Wine 2018

Viognier-Marsanne-Roussanne |Applegate Valley, Oregon

Cowhorn is back, with their sumptuous, super-delicious white wine "Spiral 36!" This is their flagship white, made with a blend of Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne, echoing the style of the southern Rhône valley – think Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc.

Vinous Media calls Cowhorn "the quality leader for Rhône wines in the state." They're a fully biodynamic farm and winery, negative carbon-footprint, and totally natural, located in the under-appreciated Applegate Valley region of southern Oregon. They're also the first "Living Building Challenge" certified tasting room in the world, certified for their negative energy consumption and sustainable materials.

Vivid yellow in the glass, with bright, zesty, flowery aromas reminiscent of walk through a garden, with loads of white peach, honeysuckle, elderflower, and lemon curd. The finish is, dry and fresh, with chalky minerality and tangy lemon-apricot flavors.

What more can we say, except that you can tell immediately that this wine is full of verve and life!
