El Coto "Coto de Imaz" Rioja Gran Reserva 1982
Sourced entirely from the "Alta" subregion and its famed rocky limestone soils, El Coto de Rioja's "Coto de Imaz" is their flagship bottling. As reflected on the label, records show the ancient monastery of Imaz cultivating grapes and making wine here at least as far back as the 16th century.
This 1982 Gran Reserva is a drop-dead gorgeous example of their finest grapes from a standout year – 1982 stands among the finest vintages in Rioja ever, along with 1964 and 1994. From celebrating a birth year, anniversary, or other milestone this is a living piece of history!
Fill level is base neck; label shows minor scuffing; cork and capsule in superb condition.
