Constant Disruptions "Infraction" Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Russian River Valley
A fun, easy-drinking and super floral Sauvignon Blanc from rockstar winemaker Shane Finley!
Made from the unique "musqué" clone – known for its more intense aromatics and a bit of wild "muskiness" – this is a bright, juicy, and fresh "everyday" S.B. with zesty apple skin, quince, starfruit, and guava.
Winemaker Shane Finely has some serious chops. He started with his first harvest in 2001, working at some respected estates over the years: Torbreck, Copain, Cobb, and Kosta Browne. His "Constant Disruptions" brand is a smaller passion project offshoot of his larger Shane Cellars label.
Coming from a single vineyard on the cooler western precipice of Russian River Valley, this bright and dry sipper is like an amalgam of the best of New Zealand, Loire Valley, and California Sauvignon Blanc. Perfectly dry and high natural acidity, with loads of white flowers and singing green and tropical fruits; exactly what we look for in casual weeknight wine.
Over the years working alongside incredibly talented chefs, my job was to craft wine pairings to highlight their seasonal cuisine. I always grew excited for fresh cold-water oysters in the fall and winter; this is the best time for enjoying them. The cold water accentuates the clean, melon flavors in west coast oysters and the intense Atlantic brininess in those from the east coast. And oysters are a great way to start a meal where heavier foods come into play – something light, bright, and refreshing before you tuck into a roast or a wintry stew. A wine like this is the perfect complement!
