A premium, distinguished Austrian white wine with vibrant acidity, rich texture, and ripe fruit.

Grüner Veltliner is a Sommeliers' favorite for a reason. Its duality of vibrant minerality and rich texture make it ideal for everyday drinking or for expansive food pairing potential.

With notes of orange blossom, pear candy, yellow apple, and a slate, mineral aroma. On the palate (and oh what a palate!) there's ripe apple, Asian pear, ginger, and mineral oil, with a soft, rich mouthfeel upheld by a clean, tart lemony finish.

Founded in 1893, Walter Buchegger, along with his wife Silke Mayr, was the sixth generation to run this small estate in Kremstal, Austria, producing powerful, complex wines in the best tradition of Austrian winemaking. Sadly, he passed away in 2018; his wife now directs all operations single-handedly.

The farming is all organic, dictated by Austria's strict "Integrated Viticulture" practices, forbidding any toxic chemicals (no herbicides, pesticides etc.) and limiting machinery in the vineyard. Their "Pfarrweingarten" (the "Parish Vineyard") is a centuries-old historic vineyard, one of Austria's most cherished sites.

With its gunflint minerality and deep fruit richness, this wine is a wonderful aperitif yet is sure to hold its own with any salty, rich food you throw at it. Remember: in white-wine-dominant regions like Austria, whites take center stage at the dinner table!
