Andrew Rich Vintner: Terroir Series Four-Pack
Four 90-plus bottles from the Pacific Northwest
Andrew Rich is one of our favorite indie producers in the Pacific Northwest. With over twenty vintages under his belt, he's one of the most respected go-to winemakers in Oregon and Washington state, whether it's Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot, or his Rhône blends.
We've put together a special, limited four-pack of his "terroir" series, showcasing two distinct, beautiful reds from different terroirs, or soil types. This four-pack includes two bottles each of two standout, award-winning reds. Together these two reds have amassed an astounding 460 in combined 90-plus points!
"VOLCANIC" PINOT NOIR, WILLAMETTE VALLEY 2018
It's rare to find volcanic soils in the Willamette Valley, and Rich captures the essence of of volcanic Pinot here perfectly. Coming from two subregions, Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity, the Pinot is fermented from native yeast in French oak, resulting in a perfumed, layered, award-winning Pinot that's complex yet subtle, and absolutely classic Oregon Pinot. Perfumed red raspberry, cola, incense, and a subtle earthiness interplay with fine-grained tannins and poised fruit which all hint at a long life ahead. Beautiful!
"GLACIAL" SYRAH BLEND, COLUMBIA VALLEY 2016
This is a classic "G.S.M." blend, evocative of the southern Rhône. Comprised of 60% Syrah, 24% Mourvèdre, and 16% Grenache from glacier-deposited soils in Washington state's Columbia Valley.
Exploding with blue fruits and flowers, the wine is refined, exotically spiced and layered. Violet candy, blueberry, cracked pepper, black olive and mint abound. Fresh, not too heavy, and even better on the second day.
If you're a fan of Pacific Northwest wines, this box is for you! And with free shipping on each four-pack, it's a no-brainer for upcoming holiday gatherings, additions to your cellar, or simply to curl up on the couch with on a weeknight. Enjoy!
