Suelo Farmers "Deer Meadows" Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014
From Eric Prahl and Matt Osgood comes their newest passion project, Suelo Farmers.
Eric and Matt have some serious claims to fame, coming from Rhys as winemaker and Flowers as vineyard manager, respectively, both top tier wineries known for their precise, award-winning wines. Together, they're masters at converting Sonoma's most remote, challenging vineyards to all-natural biodynamic farming, not an easy feat.
Talent runs deep in this project, immediately recognized once you pull the cork. This is a masterclass in balance – at a mind-boggling 12.5% abv, they achieve power and purity seldom seen. Classic Anderson Valley Pinot: crunchy sour cherry, soft underbrush earthiness, fennel seed, fresh roses, and raspberry candy. The mouthfeel and tannins are long and silky smooth with a mentholated finish, like dusty cocoa-kissed raspberry and rose petals.
"Suelo" is Spanish for "soil," a reflection of their dedication for letting site speak for itself. Hand-harvested, fermented naturally in neutral French oak, no fining or filtering.
All-natural, crazy-good Anderson Valley Pinot at the best price you'll find anywhere!
